Russ gave a demonstration on reverse chucking with a padded fixture attached to a four-jaw chuck. A center mark on the bottom of the bowl facilitates centering when reverse chucking. This is accomplished by leaving the center mark during initial shaping of the outside or by marking with a specially made tool while in the four-jaw chuck.
Bill gave a short demonstration on constructing 2 inch sanding disks. Making multiple sanding disks for each grit gives longer life to the Velcro and provides for faster changes. Complete instructions can be found here: http://www.woodturnersofswmo.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/SANDING-DISK-HOLDER.pdf

The ongoing discussion on future topics and events for the Guild yielded several ideas: All day turning event for two consecutive months with instruction; Threading demonstration; Lidded box and lidded bowl instruction; Tool making project.
