Well kids, are we having fun yet?
We started out with minutes from previous meeting and then did our show and tell.
We saw Brian’s segmented bowl, and Alfredo’s boxes. We saw Rod’s bowls and one with an engraved gold medallion mounted on the interior base. There were a couple natural edge bowls also.
Following the show & tell we held our raffle and added another $31 to our treasury.
Our monthly meeting was at Glen-Drake Toolworks and Kevin Drake spoke and demonstratedwith skew chisels. He identified three types of tools, the flat, oval, and round, and showed where each would have value. He spoke of steel qualities
and bevel grinds. He demonstrated peel, plane and taper cuts. There was instruction on body movement guiding the tool rather than doing it all with hand movements.
