Russ’s jig for making a scoop
When: Sunday, November 10, 2013
Time: 9:30am – 4:30pm PM
Where: Russ’ shop – 18510 Estel’s Court
Directions to Russ’ shop . At the roundabout on Hwy 1, take Simpson lane and go west 1/3 mile. Turn left into Estel’s Court – the shop is to the left at the end of the cul-de-sac.
Formal Meeting: About 11:00am, we will have a meeting to disucss leadership for the next year, direction for next year and nominations of new officers.
Agenda for the day:
This will be an all day turning event. Hopefully members will remember to bring lathes for use and demonstration. The shop should be able to accommodate at least 5 lathes. We need enough coaches willing to help those less skilled. Bring your tools and wood you want to turn. There will be several projects and demonstrations being turned. Come to watch and come to participate. This will be an opportunity for members to watch, turn, ask for help, and offer help to others.
BRING YOUR FACE SHIELDS, SAFETY GLASSES, EAR PLUGS and above all your common sense. We want this to be a SAFE DAY. If it looks dangerous, it probably is dangerous.
Suggested projects are:
Boxes, spindles, bowls, pens, tops, platters, square bowls, hollow turning, sharpening, finishing, and what ever is suggested that day. If there are any special requests please email either Lee or me and we will try to include them.
This is a “bring your own lunch meeting.”
Russ and Kathy will provide Coffee. If others want to bring goodies, please do so. Woodturning is a hungry event.
